Tars Supporting a Local Charity
The Tars do what we do because we love making music together
and because we can help good causes along the way. That usually means
performing without charge to support charitable events, and especially RNLI
fundraisers-our favourite charity. Sometimes we are paid to perform and then we
find ourselves with money in the bank. Whilst we have some expenses to cover,
we are very protective of our “not for profit” status and so, when we have
accumulated a surplus, we look for a good cause to support. That is why we have
recently donated £750 to the “Youth2Youth” charity in our local area. This
charity is working hard to provide much needed facilities for young people and
children on the Bere Peninsula and is in the midst of building new Youth Club
premises. We hope our donation will help to progress their project.
